Anna & Ron Keytel are wanting to cut back on the time they are currently spending at the Club, they will continue to carry on being involved with helping the Club but on a much lower scale. below are 2 job opportunities / adverts for permanent positions. Preference will obviously to Vlei residents with the applicable experience, as this will in the best interests for all involved.

Club Manager

Zeekoevlei Yacht Club, the leading dinghy yacht club in Africa, is looking for a Club Manager.

This is a full-time occupation, with Sunday and some Saturday work in the sailing season.

An attractive salary is offered. Applicants must have their own transport.

The work includes managing the Club on a day to day basis. Much of the Club’s income is derived from Clubhouse Functions (mainly weddings and film shoots), which will be managed by the applicant.

There is an independent Galley (light meals) and a Bar, which are only opened on sailing days requiring your direction. The Club has a small Ground and Cleaning staff.

During the winter months May to September a three-day work week will suffice.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Own transport
  • Experience in administration is essential, and comprehensive knowledge of MS Office, Pastel accounting is an advantage.
  • Dinghy sailing experience is necessary
  • Staff management

 Sailing Secretary/Assistant.

Zeekoe Vlei Yacht Club, the leading dinghy yacht club in Africa, is looking for a person to assist the Rear Commodore Sailing with organising the Club’s racing. We envisage a ½ to 1 day on a weekday and a full Sunday during the sailing season.

Experience in sailing administration is necessary as well as computer knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Poster design would be another advantage. This is a pleasant part time job working in an environmentally friendly Club atmosphere.

    Had experience as rear commodore as well as honorary treasurer at Victoria Lake Club.A member of Seal Point Yacht Club on the
    Vaal Dam at which stage I was Commodore of the Jaguar 22 class.
    Will be living in Glen Cairn shortly.
