There has been some confusion about the process of donating indigenous plants for Van Bloemenstein Park in memory of Father John (as requested by his family in stead of bringing flowers to his funeral). For anyone wanting to do this, here are the options:

Option 1: For a bundle of 10 mixed fynbos plants (R150), email your order to I will send you an invoice will the banking details for the “Friends of Zeekoevlei and Rondevlei” Nursery. Once payment has been made, your bundle will be set aside and your name will go onto the contributors list. We will arrange a planting day, which we will notify you about. You are welcome to come on that day to plant your plants, otherwise Chance (Father John’s) helper will do it for you.

Option 2: You can select and purchase your own plants from the “Friends of Zeekoevlei and Rondevlei” Nursery at Rondevlei Nature Reserve. Please note that only locally occurring  indigenous plants are permitted to be planted in the Park as it falls within Zeekoevlei Nature Reserve.
