Spring Walk in Rondevlei Nature Reserve

06 Oct 2010 Posted by in News and Events | Comments

Every year FOZR arranges a Spring Walk in Rondevlei Nature Reserve.

This year its on Saturday 9th October. This is a great event and goes into the nature reserve to areas not usually open to the public so you can see a lot more of the reserve and some of its “hidden gems” like moddervlei which was re-excavated after being covered up 60 years ago where after viable seed from that time germinated giving you a view back through time.

It is also guided by a one of the “experts” in Nature conservation, this year by Joshua Gerrike (Zeekoevlei Nature Reserve manager) who will share some of his extensive knowledge with us.

Please meet us at A gate (next to the boom gate to the weir) at 10h00. To find this turn off Victoria rd Grassy Park into Peninsula rd and proceed along Peninsula road past the security hut until you see the boom gate on your right hand side or a gate with a big A on it.

The walk will be about 3km on level ground. Children are welcome and really enjoy this event. Unfortunately no pets.

Rain will postpone this event until a later date.

Please spread the news and lets have a good turnout for this effort by Nature Conservation and FOZR who work hard to enhance our enjoyment of the area.
