Club House Manager

Zeekoevlei Yacht Club, the leading dinghy yacht club in Africa, is looking for a Club House Manager. This is a full time management position with extraordinary hours in the sailing months. During the winter months (May to July) a four day work week, most often, will suffice.

An attractive, competitive salary is offered. Applicants must have their own transport and preferably reside within a 15 km radius of the club.

The work includes:

• Managing all aspects of the club including its activities and the relationships between the club and its Committee, members, guests, employees, community and industry
• Coordinate and administer the club’s policies as defined by the Constitution and Committee
• Management skills; supervises the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets and facilities with a small Ground and Cleaning staff
• Actively seeks ways to enhance the safety of its members, guests and staff and to promote the preservation of the Club’s grounds and the environment
• Public Relations; maintains a positive and professional relationship with a welcoming personality
• Secretarial and Administration Skills; attends the monthly Committee meeting and takes minutes; as well of those of Special General and Annual General Meetings
• Event management; Administers and promotes the club as a venue function
• Assists the Waterside Manager, where necessary, for smooth running of all training and boat parks
• Excellent at multitasking, confident and able to work independently with good organisational skills

Applicant Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position with strong secretarial/administration skills, comprehensive knowledge of MS Office, Social Media platforms as well as Pastel accounting
• Water sports background an advantage
• Staff management
• Own transport
