Jazz on the Vlei@ the Jolly carp

01 Oct Posted by in News and Events | 1 comment

Dear Friends of Princess Vlei

We run our campaign on generous donations from several businesses, individuals and organisations. Menngos.org.za is one of our biggest contributors. Most of all when we are in a pinch we know and trust that Petrina and her awesome team will pitch in with anything we ask like cash, eats, tables and cloths, transport, hands to do the work, and not forgetting collecting hundreds of signatures for our petition. We are very thankful for their generous support that they all give willingly to support the Save the Princess Campaign. Thank You Menngos Team!!

Our Committee has endorsed and pledged support of this Menngos fundraiser. We are all going and hope you will join us too.

Who of the Capetonians can remember Jolly Carp? A place to go dance the night away, a venue to get married in or a birthday to celebrate.
The Jolly Carp now has a hall at 38 Sasmeer Road, Sasmeer Estate, Retreat.
Think tented ambience, lanterns, great slow food cooked by the vendors of the Jolly Carp Saturday market and Capetonians from all the different sectors of society
You will walk into a stretch tented area at the entrance, where vendors clustered with clothing, art and craft will greet you.
Enter the foodhall where great traditional dishes and drinks will be served and a chill lounge to rest your feet.
Then enter the Jazz festival arena. Souk -like, to embrace your senses and wow you with music to stroke your soul!
There will be a raised deck to allow you peeks over Princess Vlei.
The harmony of the wetland will assuage your 5 senses and you will feel inclined to sign the petition to retain this wetland
as a green lung for all to enjoy from the Cape Flats to further afield.
