Dear Fellow Residents,

Your committee continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes to improve both the level of security cover and our methods for keeping you all informed. Here is a quick update on what we have achieved:

Zeekoevlei Security Watch : We have set up a Neighbourhood Watch web site:
o The address is – I encourage you all to visit the site and register ASAP!
o Membership is completely free and is open to ALL Zeekoevlei Peninsula Residents (whether or not you currently subscribe to the ZVPENSEC initiative).
o In due course, we would hope to engage other zones and hence roll out the use of the site to the whole of Zeekoevlei.
o The site provides for items of news, incident reporting, upcoming events and even room to offer articles/services for sale or wanted. You can also see who your local street representative is and how to get in touch with them.
o The usefulness of the site depends on the accuracy and speed with which the information is made available. Your committee is responsible for loading the pertinent facts from the ZVPENSEC/KUFF’s incident log. All registered members can post relevant information using the available User Forums. Please register NOW and do this!

· Important Contact Number: If you need to report an incident or an emergency or simply suspicious activity in the area, please phone the guards on shift on 074-485-7811. A Telkom number will be announced as soon as it has been installed – this is currently awaiting the move of the ZEEP Hut to the other side of the road, plus the laying of electricity cables, etc.

A full newsletter will be issued quarterly, or more frequently as necessary. Watch out for your copy by email and also in your house post-box early in August 2008. (N.B. In the interests of keeping us all better informed, the newsletters will be distributed to all residents whether they currently subscribe to the scheme or not.)

That’s it for now. The scheme is working. Many arrests have been made and serious incidents averted since the scheme began! If you have not yet joined, I would encourage you PLEASE to do so by contacting your local street representative or me by email.
