3. A Buzz through the world of the Cape Bee – a talk by our very own Roger Godwin, who is a registered beekeeper, makes his own hives and recovers unwanted swarms in the Southern Peninsula by rehousing these where possible – 30 mins

6. Reflections by the Rondevlei student, Nicole, titled “Student Work Integrated Learning Year based at Rondevlei”. – 10 minutes.
7. Ismat Adams: An intern working at Pelican park under Section Ranger: Erica Essig. He is monitoring the critically endangered Barber’s ranger (Kedestes barabare bunta, a butterfly that is only found at Pelican Park) – 15 mins
8. Sabelo Mamani: Sebelo helps run the skills development programme for CTEET. This is a good example that people should see of how the nature reserve & a skills development programme is changing people’s lives – 20 mins.

If there is time and the inclination, we have a DVD presentation on Stepping Stones, a masters project by Bongani Mnisi (Daltons Northern counterpart) on creating an escape route for sunbirds and sugarbirds from TMNP across the Cape Flats to the mountains on the other side of False Bay. – 19 minutes

We will tell you about an opportunity to join a Field nature course: run every 2 weeks with a group of max 7 people – learning local birds, frogs, fish, reptiles and mammals. 4 months over spring – summer. At the end of the course people would be in a good position to be able to identify local plants and animals and contribute data on to the database of the False Bay Nature Reserve.
