Cape of Good Hope SPCA
CAPE TOWN FIRE UPDATE (17:00)
We ask that the public help by either gathering materials for care for affected animals:
Blankets, towels, cotton wool, pillow cases, sheets, water bowls, silbecor, bandages etc. These items can be dropped off with us or FOUR PAWS South Africa and we will ensure that they get to the right places for the treatment of affected animals.
Be on the lookout in your area for any animals that might have been injured and moved off the mountain and into the suburbs.
Put out water in your garden in shallow dishes so that animals may have a drink.
Be tolerant of any animals you come across, their homes have just burnt down.
Refrain from collecting healthy animals.
Refrain from entering the National Park.
There are many private individuals who have been affected by the fire and may require assistance with their pets, as well as organisations such as DARG which might require assistance in the event that they have to evacuate their animals.
Thank you for your support, we will continue to update you as we move forward to helping the affected animals.
