Spring flowers on the Rondevlei path

Here are some pictures taken of the Rondevlei path during last Saturday’s spring walk. The spring flowers are up in profusion after the ecological burn this past autumn; showing how quickly the ecosystem recovers after a fire. What was ash and dry sand 6 months ago is now carpets of flowers.

Rondevlei Ecological Burn

The Rondevlei ecological burn will be commencing at 10:00 today. The northern shore line is to be burnt on a Northerly wind; finishing at approximately 15:00. Crews will monitor during the night – rain is forecast for later. In order to facilitate this the reserve will be closed for the day.
